When I embarked on my first psychedelic medicine journey (Ayahausca), I had no idea what to expect or to ask. Something inside of me was telling me that I had to do this, but I was alone trying to research it and prepare for it.

At the time, I was working in a corporate job and my network of friends and family definitely did not know or understand my quest. It felt isolating, and also scary because there was a lot to consider, and a lot unknown.

What I know now is that while every journey is incredibly unique to each individual, the preparation and integration are CRITICAL components to the process. 

Like many, I did not have the proper support or knowledge to help me prepare and to try to integrate the insights when I returned. Preparation and Integration can be a really challenging and isolating process, so I can't stress enough - if you are considering a psychedelic medicine retreat it's so important that that you have the right tools to help you through the full spectrum of the process.

With any psychedelic medicine, you are tapping into the unconscious and accessing information that might be new, overwhelming or may not make sense right away.
